My name is Bina Singh, and I come from the beautiful hills of West Myagdi District. I’m a mother to two amazing daughters. Life hasn’t always been easy—but everything started to change when I met a single woman I respectfully called aunty, who introduced me to Sabina Chamling, the Executive Director of Rise and Shine Nepal.
Sabina personally visited my home and shared something that changed my life: the opportunity to join a Single Women Group and access skills training through Rise and Shine Nepal. Her words gave me hope. I had always dreamed of becoming a skilled tailor, but financial hardships kept that dream out of reach.
Thanks to Rise and Shine Nepal, I received a three-month specialized tailoring course at AR Fashion Design in Pulchowk—something I could never have imagined affording on my own. I also participated in incense-making training, which further boosted my confidence and skills.
Being part of the Single Women Group not only helped me learn but also allowed me to build deep connections with other single women like me. We shared our struggles, laughed together, and encouraged one another. That sense of sisterhood truly lifted my spirit.
After completing the training, I was hired by Purnaa Garment in Bhaisepati, where I now work full-time and earn a stable income. I feel proud to be supporting my daughters and myself. Looking ahead, I also dream of starting something in agriculture to further build a secure future for my family.
I’m deeply grateful to Rise and Shine Nepal—not just for the training, but for believing in me when I had stopped believing in myself. They helped me rediscover my strength and stand on my own feet.
From a small village to a skilled professional—this journey wouldn’t have been possible without Rise and Shine Nepal.
